Ingredients
  • For the Cranberry Simple Syrup:
  • ½ cup frozen or fresh whole cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • For the Cocktail
  • 1 ½ tablespoons cranberry simple syrup per cocktail
  • Champagne
  • ½ ounce orange liquor per cocktail
  • Fresh cranberries, for garnish


Directions
  1. To make simple syrup, combine all syrup ingredients in a small pot over medium-high heat. Cook until cranberries begin to burst and sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Gently smash cranberries with back of a spoon or potato masher. Strain simple syrup using a fine mesh strainer and let cool.
  3. To make cocktail, pour simple syrup into the bottom of each stem-less glass or champagne flute. Add champagne to fill glass to nearly the top and then gently float orange liquor on top. Garnish with fresh cranberries.
